Lextar Supported Library Expansion at Hua-Yuan Elementary School, Wufen Township

Since its inception, Lextar has been dedicated in child development in rural areas. Partnered with Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF) Hsin-Chu branch, Lextar supported the library expansion project for Chu-Lin campus of Hua-Yuan Elementary school in Wufen Township, Hsin-Chu County. Today on 5th March, the school celebrated the grand opening of its new library before its teachers, students, parents and residents in the community.

The facility was officially opened with a ceremony by Mr. Yuan-Cheng Peng, principal of the school, Chun-Xian Shen, Chief of TFCF Hsin-Chu branch, and Rick Ke, associate vice president of HR division from Lextar. The ceremony was also witnessed by local tribal residents and those who have contributed to the school. Initiated by Lextar employees with book and cash donation used for interior renovation, the company then donated LED tubes and lamps for energy-saving illumination.

Mr.Peng, the principal noted in excitement that the children here love reading very much. He thanked TFCF Hsin-Chu branch for their contribution to make the library what it is today. He also recognized employees of Lextar and the company’s generosity to create a safe place that accommodates the children’s learning styles and needs. He is looking forward to seeing the children taking advantage of the new learning space with gratitude, and ultimately having positive influence on the community.

Mr. Shen, chief of TFCF Hsin-Chu branch said that they are happy to see the company recognized as much as they did that literacy and reading habit development are essential for a better life. Lextar also noticed a critical need in library expansion at the school. This was where TFCF Hsin-Chu branch played a vital role engaging in this project, which marked a significant milestone to bridge the urban-rural gap on literacy rate and reading competency.

As a responsible corporate citizen, Lextar keeps working with our employees to enhance the development in the rural communities. In 2013, Lextar employees initiated a “Make a Dream Come True” project with financial donation used to purchase school winter uniforms to the children. Last year in November, the company also invited over thousand children to see the film “Beyond Beauty – Taiwan from above” in Hualien and Taitung, to let children learn how magnificent our island is and how urgent we need to protect the enrironment. This year the company played an integral part in improving the learning environment with its energy-saving lighting products. Lextar is dedicated to a better life for rural areas.
